This is a mixed media study on canvas of a face of a youth. It is part of a body of work that is mainly about charcoal, grey, white and red. In its simplicity this painting addresses the visceral. Two essential elements that have an impact on human psyche interact on the canvas, the face and the colour red. The two of them are very evocative and suggestive to the human psyche. What is happening in this painting? Is it a ritual celebrating youth? Is it an act of political rebellion or is it an act of faith?
