MARIA BADACCHINO

Maria Baldacchino is a Russian-born, Maltaraised artist whose passion for aesthetics began at a young age. She moved to Malta at the age of seven and grew up surrounded by the island’s vibrant light and Mediterranean spirit. These elements continue to inspire her creative work.

Early on, Maria found it challenging to express her thoughts through words, but drawing and painting became her true language. She studied art during secondary school and continued her development with various private tutors, most notably at Atelier Fröman. Her artistic journey led her to establish her own creative space called South Studio Atelier, where she also launched her photography and videography projects.

Maria’s painting style is deeply influenced by her experimental photography. Her work explores the boundaries between abstraction and visual storytelling.
