Alfie Gatt

Alfie Gatt (b. 1985) is a Maltese artist whose drive and passion for art started in his early childhood years. In 2005 he was awarded a degree from the Institute of Art & Design, in Malta. His creativity has also enabled him to master the skills of video editing and 2D animations.

Through his paintings he captures the intimacy of solitude and silence. His scenes and compositions are a representation of a transition of the state of mind when an individual pauses to ponder nostalgically on memories especially on memories of simpler times.

Alfie’s current style is a mix of figurative and surrealism. He describes his artistic work as a balance and marriage of graphical and fine art. This effect is demonstrated by using multiple media such as watercolour, ink, coloured pencil, acrylic, oils, and wax pastels.

Gatt has exhibited in numerous collective exhibitions and Ghost Stories is his third solo exhibition. His works can be found in private collections both in Malta and abroad.
