Life makes us hold everything in our own hands, to survive, to reach our goals, to rise higher, to take the best from it. But the world keeps showing how easily it all can vanish from our hands, and how little we truly control. There comes a state when no strength is left, when the inner ground slips away and it is unclear where any of it leads or whether anything can still be saved. It is there, at the edge, when the soul is worn to its limit, that a person instinctively reaches toward the light, looking in it for rescue. And perhaps this is the heart of it, that even in the greatest weakness, fear, or exhaustion, we still reach toward the light, because hope lives in it. The same hope that holds us when there is nothing left to hold on to.
