Johanna Barthet is known for her female portraits, which is her favourite subject to portray. This artwork was part of her latest solo exhibition, THE LITTLE ROOM UPSTAIRS, held in April 2022.

 

Her portraits are mostly of anonymous sitters, and are void of any props, which helps to convey all the focus on the captivating emotions of the sitters.
