The photograph was captured at Victoria Gate in Valletta, Malta during the summer of 2021. At a specific time of day, the shadow cast by the Gate creates a unique sunlit shape, magically transforming the ordinary passerby into some leading actor exiting center stage.

 

Nicky spent the summer months in Malta with her family. During which time she photographed many Maltese streets using similar light technique and effect.
