FABIO BORG
Tactum Aureum
Tactum Aureum — The Golden Touch — by Fabio Borg delves into what truly matters or should matter, in our lives. Drawing inspiration from the myth of King Midas, whose touch turned everything to gold, Borg's latest works (each with hints of gold) serve as a call to pause and reflect. In a world increasingly consumed by greed in various forms, these pieces challenge us to reconsider our values.
Executed with a sense of urgency, the works capture fleeting moments and raw emotions, mirroring the fast-paced nature of modern life. The dynamic, strong, almost chaotic lines — akin to scribbles — often exude tension, contrasted by soft pastel tones in the background that evoke resilience and hope, a reminder that "it can’t rain forever." For Borg, these expressive strokes are deeply personal, reflecting his self-portrait — his mark on his relationships, his identity, and his presence within his own journey.
Gold is employed subtly throughout the works, often only revealed under the right light, symbolizing how greed often hides beneath layers of distraction. Through these raw and visceral snapshots of everyday emotions, Borg highlights the powerful markers of our existence and the delicate interplay between light, shadow, and meaning.
