Rebecca Ranieri
Rebecca Ranieri (b. 1990) was born in Parma, Italy. Demonstrating an artistic aptitude from an early age, she enrolled at the Istituto d’Arte Paolo Toschi in Parma at 13. There, she deepened her passion for art history and explored various artistic and expressive techniques. Rebecca continued her education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, graduating in 2015 with a degree in Paper and Photography Conservation. This specialization led her to choose paper as her favored medium.
Rebecca worked in Italy for over a year before moving to Malta in 2017. During the COVID lockdown, she reconnected with her artistic side, which had been dormant for some time. Her renewed passion led her to participate in the collective exhibitions ProTaGoNiesTea in Rabat and ThreeinOne in Mdina, in 2021. Her debut solo exhibition, M’haju allibbirari, was held in Senglea, in November 2021.
In March 2022, Rebecca returned to Italy to reconnect with her roots and continue her artistic journey. That year, she participated in the collective exhibitions Eleftheria and I Have a Dream, both held in Milan.
Rebecca describes herself as a quiet and shy person with a loud and outgoing mind. She confines her art to the formal type, with figures playing an essential role. She uses them as a bond between her spiritual dimension and the viewers of her work.
