This painting is part of an ongoing series related to the theme 'Ħarruba', dealing with Calleja's childhood memories. The work on this theme started after his mother passed away. When Calleja was a kid, there was this ħarruba in the countryside which he and his group of friends considered as their fortress and their refuge. Eventually, he started to look back to these fond memories to help himself going through the mourning of his mother.
